A York County man will stand trial on charges resulting from a June 30 domestic dispute.
Alan Wayne Shoemaker, 48, of Etters waived a July 16 preliminary hearing before District Judge Elizabeth Frownfelter in Loysville.
Two counts of attempted criminal homicide, first-degree felonies, were dismissed against Shoemaker. He still faces first-degree felony charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping, and misdemeanor charges of simple assault and unlawful restraint.
According to court records, Shoemaker attacked Michelle Kantes, 34, of Camp Hill and Michael Witmer, 57, of Landisburg during an altercation at Witmer’s residence in the 500 block of Warm Springs Road, Spring Twp.
The affidavit of probable cause states Shoemaker wanted a romantic relationship with Kantes.
He allegedly punched and kicked both victims and cut them across their necks.
The affidavit states Shoemaker grabbed Kantes and forced her into his 1995 Plymouth Voyager van, at which time Witmer called 911. Kantes tried to escape, but Shoemaker “stomped” her hands, and eventually let Kantes go in a nearby field where he also discarded the knife.
Shoemaker later was arrested after a friend he contacted called 911.
Shoemaker was arraigned before District Judge Donald Howell in Newport last month. He is in Perry County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
