A 2007 Lincoln Mark LT tried to make a right turn onto Gypsy Hollow Road from E. Juniata Parkway, Howe Twp. at 12:23 p.m., June 16, when it struck a mailbox and a guardrail. The driver was uninjured. Mitchell R. Smith, 21, of Carlisle suffered minor injuries at 1:30 p.m., June 7, after his 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, traveling north on Millers Gap Road, Rye Twp., failed to make a left-hand turn and struck several trees on the east side, lodging between the trees. Smith left the scene and was picked up and driven to a friend’s house. State police were notified. Smith was transported by Marysville Ambulance to Hershey Medical Center. The vehicle was towed. A 15-year-old juvenile suspect entered the Marysville residence of Christopher McElheny between 10:30 and 11 p.m., June 16. The suspect removed two I-pods, a purse and a bowl of change. When exiting the residence, the suspect was confronted by a neighbor, causing the juvenile to throw the stolen items in the weeds and flee. State police investigated a theft of fuel belonging to Vincent McLaren of Shermans Dale between June 7 and 13 at Youngs Church Road, Carroll Twp. The registration sticker was removed from a license plate belonging to Charles E. Stickel between June 11 and 12 at Windy Hill Road, Carroll Twp. Property was damaged at 3 p.m., June 14, in an open garage at Warner Lane, Saville Twp. The property owner is Emory Zulauf Warner. Following a verbal confrontation at their residence, Leanne Marie Hemperly, 20, of Newport punched Catherine Mary Dishman, 45, of Newport in the back of the head three times and grabbed her arm, leaving bruising and a red scratch mark at 9 a.m., June 16, at N. Front Street, Oliver Twp. Hemperly was charged with harassment. Tara Nicole NcNaughton, 21, of Elliottsburg purchased alcohol and furnished it to a group of minors, including giving two 12-ounce cans of beer to Thomas Woodward, 19, of Shermans Dale at 7 p.m., June 14, near Big Buffalo Creek on Route 849 in Saville Twp. Woodward then drank the beer. A woman’s bicycle was found in the area of Liverpool Pool behind Sorb’s Bar at 1:44 p.m., June 17. The owner may claim with proper description by contacting Troopers Jeffrey Stine or David Hammer at 567-3110. Someone wrecked a 1997 Dodge Caravan at 11:04, June 20, along Route 1014 in Liverpool Twp. The operator drove the vehicle off the road at a curve and wedged it between two trees before leaving the scene. A thief in a light blue pickup truck stole a hot water heater from a junk yard in the 7000 block of Veterans Way, Saville Twp. at 2:30 p.m. on June 23. The victim is David Kell of Ickesburg. A 25-year-old female mule was shot three times with a paint ball gun at 5:30 p.m., June 24, in the 1000 block of Lower Baily Road, Miller Twp. The mule was struck once in the torso and twice in the left inner thigh. Julio Rivera-Lopez, 24, of York was charged with aggravated harassment after an incident at noon, May 15, at Perry County Prison, in which he threw urine on Matthew Buckwalter and Michael Casadonti, both of New Bloomfield. Jing L. Jiang, 47, of Lewistown drove a 2003 Chrysler Voyager off the road and into an embankment along Route 22 in Howe Twp. at 9:10 p.m. on May 23. Jiang was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, but the vehicle was disabled and had to be towed. Both side mirrors were broken on a car belonging to Teresa Berry in the 1000 block of Manor Drive, Oliver Twp., overnight June 15-16. Jim Kautz, 43, was charged with harassment after a domestic dispute June 21-22 in the 200 block of Barnett Woods Road, New Bloomfield, in which he grabbed April Thomas, 43, and pushed her into a wall and to the floor. A Millermatic 185 MIG welder and welding and building supplies valued at $2,275 were stolen in a burglary May 12-14 in the 1800 block of Lower Bailey Road, Miller Twp. Angela N. Copko, 19, of Harrisburg was cited for driving too fast for conditions after she drove a 1998 Mitsubishi off Routes 322 in Howe Twp. at 6:40 p.m. on June 18. The accident occurred as Copko was merging from the right lane to the left lane and lost control of her vehicle on the wet road. The Mitsubishi struck an embankment and rolled onto its roof in the median. Copko was using a lap and shoulder belt and was uninjured. Someone driving a mid-sized truck stole a new 3-D whitetail deer target from Hyd-A-Del Shooting Preserve in Jackson Twp. overnight June 18-19. Todd D. Harris, 27, of New Bloomfield was driving west on Route 850 in Rye Twp. at 1:15 a.m. on June 30 when his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the road and struck the guardrail. The Jeep was extensively damaged and Harris left on foot. He was using a lap and shoulder belt and was not injured although police did cite him for the accident. Nicholas Troutman, 18, of Newport was cited for underage drinking after he became intoxicated and laid alongside Daniel Road in Oliver Twp. at 12:28 p.m., June 15. A 16-year-old male was charged with harassment after injuring a 14-year-old male in a fight at 8:20 p.m. on June 18 along McClure Street in New Bloomfield. The teen-agers are residents of New Bloomfield. Two bicycles were found at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2007, along Dellville Dam Road, one-half mile from Sleepy Hollow Road. The orange Next Rampage hard trail bike and green Huffy Superia mountain bike can be claimed by their owners at the Newport State Police station. Vandals broke three windows at the residence of Ashley Ambrose in Orchard Hills Mobile Home Park, Windy Hill Road, Carroll Twp., at 10:30 p.m., June 17. Part of a cinder block was thrown through a front window. Also, two bottles of prescription medicine were stolen from the home. Five gallons of gas were siphoned from a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer belonging to Eugene Losch in the 400 block of W. Juniata Parkway, Greenwood Twp., overnight June 20-21. A hit-and-run driver sideswiped a utility pole along Route 17 in Southwest Madison Twp. at 1 p.m. on June 21. The utility pole was broken in half at its base. The right rear window of a 1992 Acura Integra belonging to Evander Jones Jr. of Duncannon was broken in the 900 block of N. High Street, Duncannon, June 19-20. Someone tried to pry open the front door of a house under construction in the 600 block of N. Front Street, Liverpool, June 14-20. Vandals also spray painted graffiti on the garage at the rear of the property which is owned by Clarence Lamora Jr. of Blue Ridge Summit. Burglars stole a fluorescent pink gas-powered remote control car from the residence of Richard Dobson of the 900 block of Greenbriar Road, Centre Twp., June 15-16. Christian M. Fisk, 17, of Newport escaped injury after he rolled a 1989 Jeep Wrangler while traveling east on Sugar Run Road in Tuscarora Twp. at 3:50 a.m. on June 19. The vehicle left the road, struck a stone fence then rolled over and struck another stone fence before stopping. State police cited Fisk for the accident. Jason Goshorn, 23, and Nathanael Murnay, 22, both of Newport, were cited for disorderly conduct after riding their ATV in the Bailey Run Trailer Park at 7 p.m. on June 18, creating a disturbance to residents. A gold bracelet with 2.5 carats of diamonds valued at $900 was stolen from a display case at Old Mill Antiques in the 400 block of N. Front Street, Liverpool, May 29-30. It is thought that a white female in her 30s or early 40s and a white male in his late teens distracted the attendant while a display case was opened and the bracelet was stolen. Someone shot a cat with a BB pellet in the 1800 block of Valley Road, Rye Twp., between 10 and 11 a.m. on June 21. Megan Klinger, 18, of Landisburg and Jesse Culley Sr., 21, of Enola were charged with harassment after engaging in what police called a domestic dispute in the 400 block of Falling Springs Road, Spring Twp., at 3:30 p.m., June 22. Renee Yohn, 39, was cited for harassment following an altercation with Harold Zeiders III, 46, in the 400 block of Dock Street, Newport, at 6:41 p.m., June 21. Larry A. Rowe, 76, of Summerdale was driving north on Route 34 in Carroll Twp. at 8:31 a.m. on June 22 when his 2002 Chevrolet Malibu left the road, climbed an embankment and struck a tree before flipping onto its roof. Rowe and Micheal L. Rowe, 49, also of Summerdale, were treated for minor injuries at the scene by Shermans Dale Fire Company personnel. Both were wearing lap and shoulder belts. Larry Rowe was cited in the accident. Jon C. Ledbetter, 35, of Baltimore was traveling south on Routes 11/15 in Penn Twp. at 1:45 a.m. on June 21 when he fell asleep at the wheel of a 2007 Ford F-350. The pickup left the right side of the road, struck the mountain and then crossed over the southbound lane of the road where it struck a concrete barrier and came to rest. Ledbetter and his passenger, Megan Lanclos, 15, also of Baltimore, received minor injuries. Lanclos was taken to Harrisburg Hospital by Duncannon Ambulance. Ledbetter was cited in the accident. Numerous items were removed after vandals broke windows to enter two vehicles parked at Norm’s Tire & Auto, 1600 block of State Road, Penn Twp., June 19-20. |
